Why 3v3? 

3v3 games give players the chance to take more actions on the ball, boosting their confidence when it comes to attacking and defending

Some of the befits of playing 3v3:

• More touches on the ball
• Increased number of game related decision-making opportunities
• Constant transition from attacking to defensive situations
• Increased 1 vs 1 encounters in both attacking and defending situations
• Increased opportunities to utilize specific ball skills
• Increased opportunity to be in a goal scoring position
• Increased opportunities to be in a 2 vs 1 attacking and defending situation

Why we feel it is better than 4v4:

• All players attack and defend in 3v3
  
• Coaches often  place players in diamond in 4v4. It makes sense, but this can become too rigid and structured, especially for young players. 
• Far too often one player in 4v4 stays back and defends like a GK, slowing the play and stunting overall development.
• 3v3 provides a more fluid game where players move into various attacking and defending positions, using multiple angles of support. Increased development of spacial awareness and communication.
